Dear Yuletide Writer

This is my first time participating in Yuletide. First off I'd like to thank you in advance for all the hair-pulling and effort you're going to put into this, as a vet or a fellow new timer. Know that we are bonded somehow through the frantic typing we are both probably going to do in December. Thank you.
Also; these are just personal preferences. To be honest I'd be happy with any fic in any of these fandoms, because I really, really love them and anything would be great. Please know that if you are inclined to take none of my prompts and just go in the direction your creative muse is taking you, go for it! I love a surprise just as much, if not more. Seriously, do not feel pressured to take any of my preferences into account, because if you're a fan of any of these you're probably going to have some great ideas I could never think of.

Glitch (Video Game)
I love Glitch. I remember getting into the game only a month before its closing was announced and I was devastated. It was lovely. The worldbuilding; the tiny details; the quirky writing and injokes that were essentially everywhere. Anything you write about Glitch is fine-an Ur origin story involving all the Giants, maybe, or even writing about Esquibeth or about the NPCs or a fun story about the Butlers. What I'd like a lot is maybe-if you know them-a story about ghost tours? The quest about following someone and finding every ghost. Maybe a story about fighting Rooks, or trying to achieve badges. What I loved best about Glitch was exploring the world and getting to meet new people and find out new things about it. My favorite place to go was Samudra and leave notes of poetry there, or find hidden places in basements and jump around with friends. These are all springboards for ideas; if you have something entirely different in mind like maybe even writing God/Glitches go for it! I will love whatever you write. Confessions (2010)
I really enjoyed this movie. It was the first movie I ever snuck into *I was too young at the time* with people I was kind of nebulously related to, it was late at night and I didn't anticipate anything in the plot at all. The viciousness of Moriguchi, the secret desperation of both killers. What I loved the most was the heart; Mizuki Kitahara. She engaged me in the story, made me hope for her when it was obvious Shuya would eventually kill her. The smashing of all romanticized notions was painful and necessary, and made his comeuppance all the more satisfying. I'd like something about her before she died, maybe. But another direction it could go would be perhaps, to deal with the extremely ambiguous ending-did Moriguchi kill Shuya's mom? Or was she really joking?
Maybe you could have an AU where Mizuki's approached to be Shuya's partner in killing Moriguchi's daughter, or where she actually is Lunacy and managed to keep her identity secret until Shuya tweaks. I really liked her and would have loved a more in-depth story about her, she was badass.
Or hell, you could flash forward 20 years in the future at their school reunion and have all the surrounding students of the class blatantly try to ignore the fact that 3 of their students vanished, or were murdered by a fellow student, or died brutally in jail. Perhaps you could tell the perspective of that one classmate, the one who felt sorry for Miss Moriguchi and turned everyone against Shuya, try to remind everyone only to be halted in his tracks. Anything is fine. One squick would definitely be trying to romanticize Shuya Watanabe's actions, though. I'm not particularly sympathetic towards him. You can write a redemption story, or a story about him being awful; he's a fascinating sociopath.
The Ghosts of Ashbury High
This is one of my favorite books of all time. Jaclyn Moriarty really knows how to pace herself. The twist, and the strength of each different character, is phenomenal-the atmosphere perfectly made. It's an amazing conclusion and epilogue to the Ashbury High series as everyone graduates. Anything you write about these characters would be great. Maybe Riley, Lydia and Amelia come together in the future to write a book together, or when Riley and Amelia's first album comes out Lydia writes little vignettes for each of their songs. Maybe we get to see Emily as an adult-I'd like to think she'd be fun, that she'd participate in flash mobs and sing in Spanish in the shower while preparing to intern at a law firm. Maybe you could have Toby as the heart of the group as they all inevitably drift apart in adulthood-reminding everyone of the amazing things that happened in their last year of school. Maybe you could just write a short piece of all of them just hanging out together in school, or maybe one night on the anniversary of that day when they all travelled back in time they all dress up in their old uniforms and go to the park to say some things to Tom and Maggie. If you were a fan of all of the Ashbury High books, you could write a story about how some side characters saw the entire thing unfold from the outside; how Sergio, Cassie, Elizabeth, Charlie or Bindy saw it. Anything you write about this universe would be awesome.

Ed Kennedy! Where to start. I think I'd really like maybe something set like maybe all of Ed's messages bumping into each other and having a connection without realizing. Or you could even have him post-canon, dropping cards into people's mailboxes as if passing the torch-or you could have him as a literary success, having dumped the cab driving. I'd love the runner girl as a cameo, or even the Rose brothers.
Life (manga)
AH, AYUMU. I really like Life. It's vicious and sweet all at once with balance. I mainly watched the drama series, which is similar to the manga. I would love a fic about them-Ayumu, Miki, Sonada-kun. Hell, ot3 if you are so inclined. I ship all three of them in every configuration. Put in Manami if you'd like-she's fascinating. I've read the manga so you can do whatever with that too. I'd like fixit fic with the three friends, but anything else is alright too! Maybe even an AU where the tables are turned and Manami is the sole victim. Who knows?
