Summary

I love me some Jade gen! We do not have enough. I want to see how jade got to be so strong after everything that ever happened to her. She went from a girl on an island with a grandfather with a chance at having a long life, maybe see the world-and it got snatched away from her. I'd like a story dealing with some of the things Homestuck shoves under the rug; how she grew up with only a dog by her side since she was young. How she deals. How she distracts herself from the magnitude of her loss, the possibilities stolen away from her, how she sustains herself properly; how much she loved her Granddad. I'd love a view on her pre-canon life. Some prospit stuff wouldn't be amiss either!

I think my prompt really says it all! I'm pretty cool with anything, as long as it's Jadecentric and not about her being sidelined in a couple, though sneaking some JadeRose in there is totally cool with me. You could talk about her Prospitian life, for example. Or even post-Cascade with some space power exploitation/exploration. Any time period is fine, really! I just want it to be canon-compliant or canon-divergent. Or pre-canon, if you like.

How she defied her again and again before running off and making it on her own and siring a company that would give Crockercorp a cold sweat and spearheading a rebellion. I think there's a sad lack of Grandma English fic in fandom, especially YOUNG Jade English. If you could write about her, I would love it.

Summary

Beta ot4 with maybe a bigger slant towards Jaderose? When it comes to beta ot4 I'm a sucker for domestic fic where they're all living together, watching movies together and making out in turns. Or, or, to make it Jade-er: a non-sburb AU where they're online friends scattered across the US. Jade finally takes fate into her own hands by going on a road trip and just getting all of them together, driving from coast to coast. Seriously, anything where Jade brings them together-friendship/romantic either way, would be great.

UM, YES. I'll probably mention later on in this letter that i am a SUCKER for road trip narratives, though you can take that somewhere else if you want. I am wholeheartedly in the camp that romanticizes sleeping in the backseat and in shitty motels, and after some kind of confrontation, someone going outside for a cigarette and then someone ELSE coming out of the other room to kiss them. It would be nice if there were kisses. I like the idea of John and Dave sticking their heads out of the window, late night diner shenanigans and everyone slumping tiredly against each other and sticking their heads on people's laps.

Jade ordering an insane amount of waffles. Rose magically making the broken vending machine work at a petrol station. These four dumb kids getting out of the car in the middle of driving to wherever to START RUNNING AND SCREAMING LIKE DORKS on the nearby beach because it's sunrise. (Man, I'll probably write this at some point, I am getting way too pumped.) ANYWAY, sorry about all these specifics. You can totally take the post-sburb prompt, where they're living in a city/town/somewhere and ok also i am very into city-specific shenanigans as well, like flash mobs and...ok ok I'll stop. I know I'm getting super specific here and I'm sorry about that. Honestly if there's something else that excites you and interests you more I promise I'm down for anything as long as it's with these four dorks. I cannot emphasize on how much I want you to have fun with this thing, not sweating over trying to please me.

Summary

I absolutely adore these two together. Whether it's romantic or just platonic bros, these guys have SO MUCH in common-and I think their dynamic would be amazing, Jade and Dirk are both so disarming in equal measure but in drastically different ways. They'd spend hours talking science and robots and the practicality you have to have when you're a child living by yourself, and I really just want fic about them, Jade just tearing through Dirk's armor like it's nothing and Dirk being constantly caught off-guard. Romance/friendship are both acceptable!

3. Snowman diamonds The Handmaid

My headcanon is that the Handmaid is nothing like Damara. Also the idea of the two only badass ladies in the Felt would have made a great team, with or without quadrants. I'd like to see Snowman maybe mentoring the Handmaid, both of them enjoying that they understand each other as they both have immense power, even more than the rest of the Felt members. I'd love a nice adventure/friendship story, with them kicking ass and taking names together. Or, if you're an artist, you could do something like an action movie poster. If you're feeling ambitious-a noir/space crossover movie poster, with the Handmaid being the space adventure part and Sn0wman being the noir part. It'd be epic.

4.A character study on Kanaya Maryam. Her life before Sgrub, her role during the troll's session. I'd like to see her development fleshed out. It doesn't have to be completely devoid of shipping, but I'd like it kept to a minimal point. I'd like to see the central focus to be on her. Maybe how she fended off desert zombies with her chainsaw, or even her sunbathing. I'd love to see her in her natural element-maybe how she constructed her hive, or the way she liked to design clothes? Any gen about Kanaya, really.

5. Badass power team-ups? Yes, please! Usually, NepTer is portrayed as the cute, supportive couple and one of them is the badass; however, I'd like to see them together in action, working to bring down Meenah and Vriska. The prompt I have in mind is kind of an AU one, maybe one where the two pairs are leaders of rival high school gangs, or if you want, canonically, you could have Nepeta and Terezi vs Meenah and Vriska in the dreambubbles if you so desire. It doesn't have to be necessarily romantic, though I'd prefer any romantic pairings to be non-black! Whatever you can think of these two.

Hey there, Writer!
This is my first time participating in Yuletide. First off I'd like to thank you in advance for all the hair-pulling and effort you're going to put into this, as a vet or a fellow new timer. Know that we are bonded somehow through the frantic typing we are both probably going to do in December. Thank you.

Also; these are just personal preferences. To be honest I'd be happy with any fic in any of these fandoms, because I really, really love them and anything would be great. Please know that if you are inclined to take none of my prompts and just go in the direction your creative muse is taking you, go for it! I love a surprise just as much, if not more. Seriously, do not feel pressured to take any of my preferences into account, because if you're a fan of any of these you're probably going to have some great ideas I could never think of.

Glitch (Video Game)
I love Glitch. I remember getting into the game only a month before its closing was announced and I was devastated. It was lovely. The worldbuilding; the tiny details; the quirky writing and injokes that were essentially everywhere. Anything you write about Glitch is fine-an Ur origin story involving all the Giants, maybe, or even writing about Esquibeth or about the NPCs or a fun story about the Butlers. What I'd like a lot is maybe-if you know them-a story about ghost tours? The quest about following someone and finding every ghost. Maybe a story about fighting Rooks, or trying to achieve badges. What I loved best about Glitch was exploring the world and getting to meet new people and find out new things about it. My favorite place to go was Samudra and leave notes of poetry there, or find hidden places in basements and jump around with friends. These are all springboards for ideas; if you have something entirely different in mind like maybe even writing God/Glitches go for it! I will love whatever you write. Confessions (2010)
I really enjoyed this movie. It was the first movie I ever snuck into *I was too young at the time* with people I was kind of nebulously related to, it was late at night and I didn't anticipate anything in the plot at all. The viciousness of Moriguchi, the secret desperation of both killers. What I loved the most was the heart; Mizuki Kitahara. She engaged me in the story, made me hope for her when it was obvious Shuya would eventually kill her. The smashing of all romanticized notions was painful and necessary, and made his comeuppance all the more satisfying. I'd like something about her before she died, maybe. But another direction it could go would be perhaps, to deal with the extremely ambiguous ending-did Moriguchi kill Shuya's mom? Or was she really joking?

Maybe you could have an AU where Mizuki's approached to be Shuya's partner in killing Moriguchi's daughter, or where she actually is Lunacy and managed to keep her identity secret until Shuya tweaks. I really liked her and would have loved a more in-depth story about her, she was badass.

Or hell, you could flash forward 20 years in the future at their school reunion and have all the surrounding students of the class blatantly try to ignore the fact that 3 of their students vanished, or were murdered by a fellow student, or died brutally in jail. Perhaps you could tell the perspective of that one classmate, the one who felt sorry for Miss Moriguchi and turned everyone against Shuya, try to remind everyone only to be halted in his tracks. Anything is fine. One squick would definitely be trying to romanticize Shuya Watanabe's actions, though. I'm not particularly sympathetic towards him. You can write a redemption story, or a story about him being awful; he's a fascinating sociopath.

The Ghosts of Ashbury High
This is one of my favorite books of all time. Jaclyn Moriarty really knows how to pace herself. The twist, and the strength of each different character, is phenomenal-the atmosphere perfectly made. It's an amazing conclusion and epilogue to the Ashbury High series as everyone graduates. Anything you write about these characters would be great. Maybe Riley, Lydia and Amelia come together in the future to write a book together, or when Riley and Amelia's first album comes out Lydia writes little vignettes for each of their songs. Maybe we get to see Emily as an adult-I'd like to think she'd be fun, that she'd participate in flash mobs and sing in Spanish in the shower while preparing to intern at a law firm. Maybe you could have Toby as the heart of the group as they all inevitably drift apart in adulthood-reminding everyone of the amazing things that happened in their last year of school. Maybe you could just write a short piece of all of them just hanging out together in school, or maybe one night on the anniversary of that day when they all travelled back in time they all dress up in their old uniforms and go to the park to say some things to Tom and Maggie. If you were a fan of all of the Ashbury High books, you could write a story about how some side characters saw the entire thing unfold from the outside; how Sergio, Cassie, Elizabeth, Charlie or Bindy saw it. Anything you write about this universe would be awesome.

Ed Kennedy! Where to start. I think I'd really like maybe something set like maybe all of Ed's messages bumping into each other and having a connection without realizing. Or you could even have him post-canon, dropping cards into people's mailboxes as if passing the torch-or you could have him as a literary success, having dumped the cab driving. I'd love the runner girl as a cameo, or even the Rose brothers.

Life (manga)
AH, AYUMU. I really like Life. It's vicious and sweet all at once with balance. I mainly watched the drama series, which is similar to the manga. I would love a fic about them-Ayumu, Miki, Sonada-kun. Hell, ot3 if you are so inclined. I ship all three of them in every configuration. Put in Manami if you'd like-she's fascinating. I've read the manga so you can do whatever with that too. I'd like fixit fic with the three friends, but anything else is alright too! Maybe even an AU where the tables are turned and Manami is the sole victim. Who knows?
